Every path can look different. Here’s one example of how an interest can move through the Yonder experience.

Why do some cars hold their value better than others?
Compare five enthusiast cars and recommend which one you would buy with $30,000.
Make time to research and work on the Project.
Keep the finished Project and what they learned as part of their growing portfolio.
Talk through which cars to compare, what makes a useful recommendation, or where they’re getting stuck.
Peers, discussion, feedback, and a shared challenge can push the thinking further when a relevant group experience fits.
Sometimes your teen needs a place to work independently. Sometimes another person helps. Sometimes the idea gets better when other students are part of it.

Your teen keeps meaningful ownership of what they pursue. We give them structure, useful tools, thoughtful adults, and other students who can help them go further without choosing the path for them.
You should understand what your teen is exploring, what they’re working on, and where they may need support without having to manage the experience for them.
See the interests, Sparks, Projects, classes, and topics taking shape.
Understand the Projects, next steps, class work, and other things they’re spending time on.
Have enough context to ask useful questions and encourage them while leaving the decisions and ownership with your teen.

As teenagers get older, more of the decisions become theirs. We give them a lower-stakes place to practice what to explore, what to pursue, when to keep going, when to change direction, and when to ask for help.
Try enough questions, topics, and experiences to learn what actually holds their attention.
Practice deciding what deserves more time, what to leave alone, and what direction to take next.
Turn interests into Projects, solutions, recommendations, capstones, and other work they can point to.
Look back at what happened, what they learned, and whether to go deeper, try something new, or move on.
Choose the kind of support that fits now. You can always add something different later.
